Inspired by a native explorative vine, our brand represents the ethos of working with nature to produce the best from nature. This involves seeing ourselves as part of an ecosystem, with an imperative to reduce harm and increase harmony. We support this endeavour with a light-touch approach to grapegrowing and winemaking as well as mindfully resolving the challenges our land presents. Ironically, we've discovered it's often the things you don't do that count the most....
While we manage our vineyard blocks organically, there's a whole gamut of other things to consider when applying best practice on our farm, office environment and community. Our practices are centred around sustainability in all its many forms. From small ad-hoc decision-making that has a clear-conscience-consequence, right through to adhering to the rigorous standards of ACO Certification and the Sustainable Winegrowing Australia program.
What a great bunch of people we work with! Most of us were attracted to Wayfinder by its focus on sustainability, but what keeps us here is a continued effort to improve on what we do. Culture is important to us, and although we don't always get it right, we have the hard chats when needed and get on with the job. Our team have gathered from places near and far and we welcome the diversity of seasonal team members who bring laughter and colour to the workplace.
We feel infinitely lucky to be where we are in the heart of the Margaret River region. Only 7kms from the coast, our farm and vineyard enjoys cooling ocean breezes and is formed over the mantle of an ancient laterite ridge. The property is a veritable patchwork of soil types, with gentle slopes to the south and three large dams gracing the landscape. Stunning pockets of native bushland will be expanded by our extensive regeneration program to ensure that ours is a place preserved, not simply inhabited.
Our partners are good-hearted people and it's satisfying to see the mutual benefits being reaped so early in the life of our business. A new brand needs so much support to launch itself into the world and we're grateful to have likeminded experts alongside us on this journey. So far we have brand ambassadors in WA, Victoria and Singapore, with some export partners on the way. There are still plenty of opportunities for others to come along - we're always open to discussing ways we can collaborate to promote the enjoyment of "clear-conscience wines".
